The MTO210 transformer ohmmeter safely and accurately measures the DC resistance of all types of magnetic windings in on-site and workshop situations. It can also be used to check the operation of on-load tap changers, a common cause of transformer problems.
Timesaving features include dual-channel operation, allowing transformer primary and secondary winding resistances to be measured simultaneously, and bidirectional current output capabilities that allow users to take advantage of any existing magnetisation in the winding core to aid rapid current stabilisation.
When used to check the contact resistance of make-before-break tap changes and voltage regulators, the instrument provides indication of pitted or misaligned contacts.
Safety circuitry automatically discharges the windings upon completion of the test in case a lead is accidentally disconnected, or there is a power failure.
The unit can demagnetise winding cores before or after resistance testing is carried out and can be used as a stand-alone core demagnetiser.
Test results are shown on LCDs and can be stored in the unit’s internal memory. The instrument is fully compatible with Megger PowerDB Lite software for test result analysis and reporting for all types of power equipment tests.
