The Frame Group to upgrade Fujitsu Data Centre
Tuesday, 11 March, 2008
Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand has appointed The Frame Group as lead design, build, delivery and project management consultant for its Homebush data centre upgrade.
Michael Gunton, general manager Data Centre Services, said the upgrade was in line with Fujitsu’s commitment to reducing the environmental impact and carbon emissions of all its operations.
“We’re concentrating our know-how and resources on reducing the environmental burden of IT infrastructure and helping our customers reduce their carbon footprint. The Homebush upgrade fits the bill on both counts,” he said.
The upgraded building will include: effective spatial layout planning to minimise thermal currents; hybrid cooling; recycled chilled water; and advanced power management techniques to deliver greater efficiencies.
The centre will adhere to ISO 27001 for physical security and ASIO standard T4 for protective security. It will also be upgraded to a Tier III standard of the Telecommunications Infrastructure Standard for Data Centres.
