Brilliant Lighting Australia has announced the appointment of Colin Goldman to the position of chief executive officer. Goldman is the former general manager of retail and FAMCO at HPM Legrand Australia.

Goldman started out in the lighting business by launching NELSON lamps 30 years ago. This successful business imported and distributed lighting products to all market channels. It was acquired by HPM Industries and later Legrand, where Goldman worked in managerial roles.

“Brilliant is an international brand that brings innovation and style to the market. We have just set a very ambitious budget and plan for 2014 and I am confident that this will be achieved,” said Goldman.

“We are thrilled to have an executive of Colin’s calibre and experience join the Brilliant team. Colin’s strong background in leading companies through growth and change will be very valuable as we continue our evolution by leveraging new lighting technology to develop innovative lighting products to the Australian market,” said Brilliant Lighting’s managing director and owner, Norman Levin.

“Colin’s product and customer knowledge developed at NELSON/HPM and Legrand are highly complementary to our existing business. His deep understanding of lighting and electrical technology, experience in business processes and his emphasis on people and leadership development will play an important part in the continued success of our customers and the growth and development of our people, capabilities and business.

“We look with anticipation at the continued development of Brilliant’s stellar growth in the Australian market. This is an exciting time for the business and we are confident that Colin Goldman is the right person to lead Brilliant through its next stage of development.”
