GLG opens Innovation Centre
GLG (formerly Gerard Lighting) has launched a new engineering and laboratory facility to deliver custom product design and full compliance testing.
Located in Padstow, NSW, the 640 m2 Innovation Centre, which is claimed to be the first of its kind in Australia, is designed to facilitate product customisation and showcase the capabilities of the Pierlite and Sylvania portfolio to customers.
Using this facility, the company aims to educate the market on the importance of selecting quality brands and provide peace of mind when it comes to electrical safety and product reliability.
“The facility has been developed using the latest testing equipment, with a team of experienced engineers responsible for the overall operation of the Innovation Centre,” said Mark Snyman, GLG Innovation Centre Manager. “The centre allows us to build on 23 years of compliance testing to delivering innovative new products and solutions that our customers can be confident meet or exceed Australian Standards.”
The Innovation Centre includes photometry testing, testing facilities for electromagnetic compatibility, and thermal and endurance chambers.
“With the high rate of product development in LED technology, and a shrinking product life cycle, it is vital to have engineering and testing capability. This will ensure GLG are faster to market and leading the technology curve,” said GLG General Manager Customer Solutions Jackie Williams.
