Thursday, 27 September, 2012

Industry advocate Becky O’Brien of O’Brien Electrical was crowned North Queensland Business Woman of the Year at the National Annual Excellence Awards, held by Master Electricians Australia (MEA) and the Electrical Contractors Association (ECA).

As the business manager of family-owned O’Brien Electrical, O’Brien said she was honoured to be awarded North Queensland Business Woman of the Year.

“It is wonderful to be recognised by leading members of the industry for the valuable contribution that women make to business,” O’Brien said.

“O’Brien Electrical specialises in providing expert electrical solutions to businesses in the Mackay and Whitsundays since we began operations in 2005. Since then we have built successful working relationships with businesses in the region and I’m really excited at the prospects this award will create for myself and for our clients.”

ECA Group business development manager Andrew Bailey said the award could not have gone to a more deserving candidate this year.

“Ms O’Brien is one of many in the industry who is raising the bar on achieving quality workmanship and support,” Bailey said.

“Her hard work and dedication to the industry have certainly paid off.”
