Philips breaks ground on LED manufacturing facility in Chengdu
Philips recently broke ground on its LED Professional Lighting Solutions manufacturing facility in Chengdu High-tech Industrial Development Zone, marking a new phase of the bilateral cooperation between Philips and Chengdu since the two signed the LED strategic cooperation agreement in December 2011.
Philips intends to build a fully integrated LED Professional Lighting Solutions manufacturing site to optimise the allocation of resources including production, warehousing and logistics, which is intended to control production efficiency and quality, increase the responsiveness to clients and shorten delivery time.
With the development of the facility, Philips will focus on providing more customised products to meet customers’ requirements and will ensure the company can specifically work with Chinese clients to upgrade their lighting in all segments and applications. Philips will put together a professional service team to ensure client satisfaction from design to final product delivery.
The site is expected to start production in 2013.
