South Australian NECA award winners announced
The National Electrical and Communication Association (NECA) Awards of Excellence recognised eight projects completed by South Australia’s best electrical and communications contractors. The awards also recognised three of the industry’s top apprentices for their career achievements.
The results of the 2012 NECA Excellence Awards are:
- Energy Scene won the Domestic - Small Project category for the Solar & Energy Management project
- Rainbow Electrical won the Domestic - Medium Project category for the Hurtle Square Residence project
- O’Donnell Griffin won the Industrial - Small Project category for the Mini Wind Turbine Trial project
- Nilsen (SA) won the Industrial - Medium Project category for the Munno Para Railway Station project
- O’Donnell Griffin won the Industrial - Large Project category for its Adelaide Desalination Plant project
- Deane’s Electrical Services won the Commercial - Small Project category for the Housing Industry Association Office Fit-out project
- Tyrone Electrical Services won the Commercial - Medium Project category for the Flinders Centre for Innovation in Cancer project
- PSG Boffa Russo won the Commercial - Large Project category for the Youth Training Centre Project
“What we are seeing year on year is a constant raising of the bar by our members. This year is no exception,” said Larry Moore, Executive Director of NECA South Australia. “There is innovation, quality workmanship, health and safety achievements and excellent examples of how good communication and project management add up to a job well done.”
The results of the South Australian NECA Apprentice Awards are:
- Chris Marciniak won the Electrical - Commercial/Domestic Apprentice Award
- Dwayne Eckert won the Communications Apprentice Award
- Adam Lawrie won the Electrical Industrial Apprentice Award
“These young people are a credit to themselves, their companies and their training organisations,” said Moore. “It makes me immensely proud to see the high standard of work they are producing and gives me great optimism for the future of our industry.”
The three award winners are now automatically eligible for the national NECA Apprentice Awards, which will be announced on 28 November in Brisbane.
