Friday, 09 January, 2015

BICSI, the international association supporting the ICT industry, will be holding the BICSI South Pacific 2015 ‘Connected World’ conference and exhibition at Dockside Pavilion, in Sydney, from 18-20 May 2015.

The event will focus on how ICT Infrastructure is expanding into more and more business applications and building services, and the key issues the industry needs to understand to service this burgeoning migration.

The conference will feature presentations from local and international experts, who will articulate their vision for the connected digital world and how the industry professionals could enhance their knowledge and skills to be ahead of the trends.

Seminars and workshops will upskill delegates in issues such as: choosing between shielded and unshielded cabling; properly terminating Cat 6A cabling; correctly testing and reporting on cabling performance; interpreting OTDR charts; successfully deploying multimedia applications over structured cabling; cabling for industrial applications; and maintaining fire-ratings in cable pathways. The exhibition hall will feature the latest products and services for all three days.

Other topics to be covered include: the latest ICT infrastructure design methodologies; the unique communications, power, security and environmental needs of data centres; applications and building services that are moving to digital platforms; latest industry standards and their ramifications; and the legal complexities of data centres and the cloud.

The event will be of interest to all professionals involved in any aspect of ICT infrastructure, data centre industry, AV, security, intelligent transport systems (ITS) and the building automation industry,  and the two-way radio industry; and facility management professionals. ICT Infrastructure is at the heart of connecting everything that’s digital, whether it is over copper, fibre or wireless. This is the event for anyone wishing to be more knowledgeable about that infrastructure that connects the world.
