WA Electrical and Communications Association re-brands to NECA WA
The Electrical and Communications Association (ECA) in Western Australia has restructured and re-branded to become part of the National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA).
"The re-branding exercise was part of the group's new strategic direction, which included joining with the national association and its brand with a view to raising its profile and member representation at a higher level," said Peter Tuck, chief executive officer of the association.
"Our rebrand from ECA to NECA WA is a huge cultural change, but one which is very positive for the organisation and, importantly, for our members. NECA on a national level has a very strong brand in the Australian electrical industry, as well as a strong lobbying voice within government.
"It makes sense for us to adopt and harness the national NECA identity and to have a stronger presence at the national table, rather than acting independently in this state," he said.
James Tinslay, CEO of NECA National, welcomed the change.
"As the only national body representing the interests of electrical and communications contractors in government and industry circles, it is important that we do have a voice that is reflective of national interests and this, of course, includes Western Australia. It strengthens our position as the peak Australian body," he said.
